A handsome upright evergreen tree with an exotic appearance. Bronze growth tips and spikey leaves. A medium-sized tree (6-8 metres) with fragrant flowers.

Rich in vegetable protein, very high in good oil and selenium, an element often scarce in New Zealand soils and good for male fertility. It can reduce blood cholesterol if eaten regularly each week.

Macadamia likes a warm position, sheltered from strong winds. As a guide, Macadamia will grow well where Citrus grow. Protect young trees from frosts. A well-draining soil is required but water well and deeply during extended dry periods to prevent fruit drop.
