Landscaping
Avocados are beautiful evergreen trees. The older varieties (like Avocado Hass) require a good-sized garden. However, new varieties like Avocado Cleopatra™ that are more compact and do not grow as big are more suitable for a slightly smaller garden. Watch out for new varieties from incredible edibles® coming on the market soon.

Culinary & Nutrition
Avocados are rich in mono-unsaturated oil, protein, and vitamins A and B. Low in sugar and cholesterol with large amounts of minerals, calcium, iron, and potassium. We all know the endless uses of Avocados in salads, from baking to making your own guacamole. Remove the fruit from the tree with part of the stem attached. Ripen the fruit at room temperature until slightly soft before refrigerating.

Growing Conditions
A warm sheltered sunny position protected from the wind when young. Frost tender, especially when young. Avocados prefer a free draining soil and fertilise in the growing seasons with a high Nitrogen fertiliser. Prune to maintain the desired shape. It can take some years before fruiting. Avocados can be grown from Avocado stone, but these are unlikely to produce fruit.
